Job summary
Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Instrumentation Technician I to perform troubleshooting, calibration, installation, testing and commissioning on electronic instrumentation used in automation of large industrial processes.
You will assist with system integration, identify parts, program PLCs and HMIs, and develop documentation for development processes. Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting instrumentation functionality, and traveling to customer sites
Qualifications
- 2 years experience as an instrumentation technician.
- Technical knowledge of AC and DC drives.
- Strong understanding of PID and control loops.
- Knowledge of Ethernet communications and connections.
- Proficient in PLC and HMI systems and diagnostics.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair instrumentation and automation systems.
- Calibrate instrumentation using a variety of meters and tools.
- Set up new instrumentation and calibrate specifications from schematics and drawings.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
- Assist with installation and maintenance projects for large industrial processes.
- Use testing software and generate reports; work with engineers during PLC testing and commissioning.
- Travel to customer sites to provide field services as required.
