Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Instrumentation Technician II to troubleshoot and repair instrumentation used in automated industrial processes.

You will assist with PLC, network, computer, and software components, program PLCs/ HMIs, and document development work for commissioning and start-up. The role involves calibration, testing, and on-site service at customer locations, with a requirement for strong problem-solving and field capability.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience as an instrumentation technician.
• Knowledge of AC/DC drives operation.
• Understanding of speed feedback devices and control loops.
• Familiarity with temperature control systems and sensors.
• Experience with PLC and HMI systems, and Ethernet networks.
• Ability to diagnose defective components and use diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, calibrate, install, test, and commission instrumentation.
• Calibrate instrumentation using meters and tools.
• Assist with installation and maintenance for automation projects.
• Test PLC/HC I/O and software, and generate documentation.
• Travel to customer sites as required.
