Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. is seeking an Instrumentation Technician I to perform services on instrumentation and control systems used in industrial processes.

You will troubleshoot, calibrate, install, test and commission equipment. Travel to customer sites is required. The ideal candidate has 1 year of experience and knowledge of DCS/PLC low voltage termination, PID control, Ethernet communications, and PLC/HMI systems.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as an instrumentation technician.
• DCS & PLC Systems- Low Voltage Cable Termination Experience
• Technical knowledge of AC and DC drives operation.
• Understanding of speed feedback devices theory and operation.
• Understanding of temperature control and components.
• Understanding of PID and control loops.
• Understanding of Ethernet communications and connections.
• Proficiency in PLC and HMI systems, communications drivers and connections.
• Thorough understanding of electrical components and devices.
• Ability to diagnose defective components, motors, drives and electronics.

Responsibilities

• Performs instrumentation and automation services, troubleshooting, calibration, installation, testing and commissioning.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation functionality and I/O operation.
• Repairs instrumentation and calibrates using meters and tools.
• Sets up instrumentation and calibrates to specifications using schematics and drawings.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
• Assists with installation and maintenance projects for automating large industrial processes.
• Uses computerized equipment and software for testing and reporting.
• Works with engineers testing and commissioning PLC systems.
• Travels to customer sites to provide services as required.
