Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. in Texas is seeking an Instrumentation Technician I to perform services on instrumentation and control systems used in automating industrial processes. You will troubleshoot, calibrate, install, test, and commission equipment, repair instrumentation, and set up new instruments according to drawings.

Qualifications

• 1 year experience as an instrumentation technician.
• Knowledge of AC and DC drives.
• Understanding of PID and control loops.
• Proficient with PLC and HMI systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs a variety of instrumentation and automation services, troubleshooting, calibration, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation functionality and I/O operation.
• Repairs instrumentation, typically involving calibration using a variety of meters and tools.
• Sets up new instrumentation and calibrates to specifications using schematics and drawings.
• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus and peripheral equipment.
• Assists with related installation and maintenance projects for automating large industrial processes.
• Uses computerized equipment and software to perform testing functions and produce reports.
• Works with engineers testing and commissioning PLC systems.
• Travels to customer sites to provide services as required.
