Job summary

Prime Controls, L.P. seeks an Instrumentation Technician I to troubleshoot, calibrate, and commission instrumentation for large industrial processes at customer sites. You will assist with system integration, identify parts, and program PLCs and HMIs under supervision.

The role requires hands-on experience with AC/DC drives, PID control, Ethernet, and electrical components. Travel to client locations is required; a strong safety mindset and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

2 years' experience as an instrumentation technician.
Strong knowledge of AC and DC drives operation.
Solid understanding of PID and control loops.
Familiar with Ethernet communications and networking.
Proficient with PLC and HMI systems.
Ability to diagnose defective components and drives.
Experience testing instrumentation and automation equipment.

Responsibilities

Performs instrumentation and automation services, troubleshooting, calibration, installation, testing, and commissioning.
Troubleshoots instrumentation functionality and I/O operation.
Repairs instrumentation, including calibration with meters and tools.
Sets up new instrumentation and calibrates to specifications.
Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of test apparatus.
Assists with installation and maintenance projects for large industrial processes.
Uses computerized equipment and software to perform tests and generate reports.
Travels to customer sites to provide services as required.
