Job summary

AdvanSix in Virginia Beach seeks an Instrumentation-Electrical (I&E) Technician to diagnose and repair instrument and electrical systems, maintain PLCs/DCS, and support motor control circuits and power distribution at our facility.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in industrial electrical/electronic technology or related certification.
• Five years of Instrumentation-Electrical Maintenance experience.
• Ability to read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation drawings and schematics.
• Demonstrated knowledge of PLCs and CNCs.
• Demonstrated knowledge of 480 Volt MCC and Power Distribution Systems.
• Basic programming knowledge with the ability to understand code and troubleshooting desired.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics desired.
• Mechanical troubleshooting background is a plus.
• English reading/writing proficiency essential.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting of critical equipment upon failure.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC electronics.
• Use electronic test equipment (VOM, oscilloscope, megger, calibrators).
• Read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, instrumentation drawings and schematics.
• Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC and/or DCS hardware, software and controls.
• Maintain 480/240 volt MCC and power distribution systems.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Move and set up equipment as needed.
• Operate aerial work platforms.
