Job summary

AdvanSix is seeking an Instrumentation-Electrical (I&E) Technician to diagnose, service, troubleshoot and maintain instrument and electrical systems, PLCs, and motor controls. The role requires an associate degree and 5+ years of I&E maintenance experience, with ability to read complex drawings and work across hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Work involves high- and low-voltage environments and strict safety practices.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in industrial electrical/electronic technology or similar.
• Five years of instrumentation-electrical maintenance experience.
• Ability to read electrical/electronic drawings and schematics.
• Knowledge of PLCs and CNCs.
• Knowledge of 480 Volt MCC and power distribution systems.
• Basic programming knowledge; troubleshooting preferred.
• Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics preferred.
• Strong communication in English.
• Organizational skills and multitasking.
• Proficient computer skills.
• Able to operate hand, power, diagnostic and machine tools.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting of critical equipment upon failure.
• Troubleshoot AC and DC electronics.
• Use electronic test equipment (VOM, oscilloscope, megger, calibrators).
• Read/interpret electrical, electronic, hydraulic, pneumatic, and instrumentation drawings.
• Install, troubleshoot, maintain and repair PLC and/or DCS hardware, software and controls.
• Diagnose and repair AC and DC motors and control circuits.
• Maintain MCC and power distribution systems.
• Replace electrical control devices and instrumentation components.
• Perform preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Move and set up equipment as needed.
