Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking an Instrumentation Coordinator I. This position is responsible for the preparation, assembly, sterilization, and quality verification of surgical instrumentation across Central Sterile Processing sites.

The ideal candidate will have formal sterile processing education, completion of a related training program, and the ability to ensure that instruments meet compliance and safety protocols. Background checks and potentially drug screens are part of the hiring process.

Qualifications

• High School diploma preferred.
• Completion of a Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech Training Program is required.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification needed within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conducts complex instrument decontamination, inspection, and assembly.
• Supports case cart readiness and assists with specialty instrumentation processing.
• Provides technical guidance to Sterile Technician II staff.

Skills

Understanding of surgical instrumentation

Knowledge of sterilization methods

Ability to interpret IFUs

Education

High School graduate preferred

Completion of a Sterile Processing or Surgical Tech Training Program

CRCST or CSPDT certification within 6 months of hire
