Job summary

The Ohio State University James Outpatient Care Department seeks an Instrumentation Coordinator to oversee decontamination, assembly, sterilization and distribution of surgical instruments across the enterprise.

The role requires collaboration with Operating Rooms, timely communication, and a year of instrument processing experience with CRCST/CSPDT certifications within 6 months of hire. OSU offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of experience as an instrument processor or Surgical Technologist.
• CRCST certification or CSPDT certification required within 6 months of hire.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, TECHSYS, and Censitrac tracking; capable of learning additional software.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships; customer service, leadership, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments to facilitate efficient case flow.
• Assist in decontamination, assembly, sterilization/high-level disinfection of reprocessed surgical inventory.
• Order, procure, and organize instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise.
