Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Colorado seeks an Assistant Principal of Instruction (API) to lead, coach, and develop teachers toward ambitious student outcomes. You will monitor progress and support data-driven instruction to keep all students on track for college.

As a school-based instructional leader, you will coach staff through high-quality instruction, manage behavior, and collaborate with families to build a culture of rigor and college readiness across the campus.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience.
• Teacher leadership or administrative experience required.
• Proven track record of achieving success in the K-12 setting.
• Experience managing/coaching others preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional staff to achieve measurable and ambitious results.
• Coach teachers through daily observations, on-the-spot coaching, data conversations, and evaluations.
• Supervise TEKS-based IDEA curricula and assessments to meet expectations.
• Review teachers’ weekly lesson plans and provide feedback.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families.
• Establish cooperative relationships with students and families based on trust and respect.
• Oversee campus tutoring sessions and participate in weekly meetings.
• Spend 40+ hours per week at school.
