Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal of Instruction to lead and develop teachers, drive college readiness, and monitor progress toward ambitious student outcomes. This role emphasizes coaching, instructional leadership, and data-driven improvement.

The API will oversee staff performance, manage TEKS-aligned curricula, and collaborate with families to ensure students stay on track for college success.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred.
• Experience: At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience
• Teacher leadership or administrative experience required
• Proven track record of achieving success in the K-12 setting
• Experience managing/coaching others preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional staff to achieve measurable, ambitious results
• Coach teachers through daily observations and on-the-spot coaching
• Oversee alignment of TEKS-based IDEA curricula and assessments
• Review weekly lesson plans and provide feedback
• Synthesize data to develop improvement strategies
• Communicate progress with students and families
