Job summary

IDEA Public Schools seeks an Assistant Principal of Instruction (API) to lead instructional coaching and develop teachers so that all students stay on track for college. The API will monitor progress, coach teachers, and drive data-informed practices to raise student achievement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience.
• Teacher leadership or administrative experience required.
• Proven track record of success in the K-12 setting.
• Experience managing/coaching others preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional staff to achieve measurable and ambitious results.
• Coach teachers through daily observations and data conversations.
• Oversee TEKS based IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Review teachers’ weekly lesson plans and provide feedback.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families.
• Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students and families.
