Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an Assistant Principal of Instruction (API) in Donna, TX to lead instructional staff and coach teachers toward ambitious student outcomes. This role focuses on developing teachers, improving curriculum alignment, and monitoring progress to ensure college readiness for all students.

Required: Bachelor’s degree; 3+ years teaching and leadership experience in a K-12 setting. Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of full-time teaching experience.
• Teacher leadership or administrative experience required.
• Proven track record of success in the K-12 setting.
• Experience coaching others preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead instructional staff to achieve measurable results.
• Provide daily observations and on-the-spot coaching.
• Supervise TEKS-based IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Review teachers’ weekly lesson plans and provide feedback.
• Synthesize, analyze, and prioritize data to develop strategies.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families.
• Develop and maintain a productive school-wide behavior management system.
• Oversee campus-based tutoring sessions and after-school duties.
