Job summary

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant for the DORS South program, with evening shifts (Mon-Thu 4:30pm–8:30pm). You will support adult students pursuing the Indiana Core 40 diploma, assist with assignments, monitor class activities, and document student progress under the guidance of classroom teachers.

The role emphasizes collaboration, effective communication, and use of technology in education; bilingual candidates are preferred.

Qualifications

• Two years of college with some training/exposure to education or equivalent network
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
• Competency in using technology
• Able to report to work regularly and on time
• Bilingual preferred
• Aligned with Christel House mission and goals

Responsibilities

• Assist students with assignments reinforcing learning concepts
• Monitor individuals or groups to maintain a safe, positive learning environment
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring
• Provide re-teaching and tutoring around core instruction
• Implement instructional programs and lesson plans under teacher supervision
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations to share information related to job functions
• Other duties as assigned

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant at DORS South to work in the evening.

Days of Service:

Schedule:

Mon-Thu, 4:30pm to 8:30pm

Job Tasks:

• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide 're-teaching' and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• Two years of college with some training/exposure to education OR network equivalent
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
