Job summary

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant for DORS South to support adult learners in an evening program. The role runs Mon-Thu, 4:30pm to 8:30pm, with 154 service days per academic year, and involves assisting with assignments, monitoring student progress, and providing re-teaching as needed.

Candidates should have two years of college or equivalent training, strong communication, tech comfort, and a willingness to work collaboratively; bilingual preferred.

• Assist students with assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individuals or groups to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide re-teaching and tutoring sessions around core instruction.
• Implement instructional programs under teacher supervision.
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations related to job functions.
• Other duties as assigned.

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a part-time Instructional Assistant at DORS South to work in the evening.

Days of Service: 154 Days (dependent upon start date, 154 is the maximum for the academic year)

Schedule: Mon-Thu, 4:30pm to 8:30pm

Job Tasks:

• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide ‘re-teaching’ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• Two years of college with some training/exposure to education OR network equivalent
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively; maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Competency in using technology
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• Bilingual preferred
