Job summary

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a part-time ML Teacher at DORS Northwest to provide after-school style instruction aligned with Indiana Core 40 pathways, empowering adult learners.

The role supports learners' personal and academic growth, works with on-site staff, and requires a valid IN teaching license and a bachelor’s degree. Evening schedule Monday-Thursday, 4:30pm–8:00pm, with 144 service days.

Qualifications

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans and assessments.
• Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Facilitate conferences, communicate progress with students and families.
• Participate in professional activities and collaborate with staff.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively and perform other duties.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that facilitate active learning.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the data to adjust instructional strategies.
• Facilitate student conferences, maintain regular communication with students regards grades, attendance and any other pertinent topics.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Other duties assigned.

ML Teachers at Christel House have the autonomy to try innovative strategies in their classrooms to reach all types of learners. Teachers support the whole child, teaching character education and social and emotional learning strategies to students to support their development beyond academics. Teachers are supported by interventionists, instructional coaches, lead teachers, on-site social workers and counselors, and a staff that thrives on collaborating and improving within the school community.

Schedule: Mon-Thu, 4:30pm-8:00pm

Requirements

• Valid IN Teaching License
• Bachelor’s degree
• Competency in using technology in the classroom setting.
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• A strong belief in the mission and goals of Christel House Indianapolis.
