Christel House Indianapolis is seeking a part-time ML Teacher at DORS Northwest to empower adult learners through engaging, standards-aligned instruction after school hours. Schedule: Mon-Thu, 4:30pm-8:00pm, 144 days per academic year.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lessons and assessments.
• Encourage and monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies.
• Facilitate student conferences and communicate about grades and attendance.
• Participate in professional activities and school initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively with teachers, counselors and staff.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

ML Teachers at Christel House have the autonomy to try innovative strategies in their classrooms to reach all types of learners. Teachers support the whole child, teaching character education and social and emotional learning strategies to students to support their development beyond academics. Teachers are supported by interventionists, instructional coaches, lead teachers, on-site social workers and counselors, and a staff that thrives on collaborating and improving within the school community.

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking a part-time ML Teacher at DORS Northwest.

Schedule: Mon-Thu, 4:30pm-8:00pm

Days of Service: 144 Days (dependentuponstartdate, 144 is the maximumfor theacademicyear)

Job Tasks:

• Plan, prepare and deliver engaging, standards-aligned lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments that facilitate active learning.
• Encourage and monitor the progress of individual students and use the data to adjust instructional strategies.
• Facilitate student conferences, maintain regular communication with students regards grades, attendance and any other pertinent topics.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Other duties assigned.

Requirements

• Valid IN Teaching License
• Bachelor’s degree
• Competency in using technology in the classroom setting.
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
