Job summary

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking an Elementary interventionist at Academy South to support students needing extra help. The role involves small group and one-on-one tutoring, under teacher supervision, to reinforce core instruction and monitor progress.

Requirements include an associate degree with education exposure, strong collaboration and communication skills, and comfort with using educational technology.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching.
• Ability to collaborate and maintain cooperative working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Competency in using technology.

Responsibilities

• Identify students below standards in specific skills in collaboration with faculty.
• Assist students with assignments to reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor students to provide a safe, positive learning environment.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide re-teaching and tutoring around core instruction.
• Implement instructional programs under supervision of the teacher.
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations.
• Other duties as assigned.

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking an Elementary interventionist at Academy South!

Days of Service: 202 days (dependent upon start date, 202 is the maximum for the academic year)

JOB SUMMARY:

This position provides support to students needing additional assistance in meeting academic standards, through small group, individual and co-instructional methods.

Job Tasks:

• In collaboration with teaching faculty, identifies students who are below standards in specific skills and knowledge.
• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide ‘re‑teaching’ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Attend meetings and in‑service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
