Job summary

Christel House Indianapolis is seeking an Elementary interventionist at Academy South to support students needing extra assistance. You will work with teachers to identify gaps, provide targeted tutoring, and monitor progress in a structured, safe environment.

The role emphasizes collaboration, effective communication, and appropriate use of educational technology within a holistic school program. Candidates should be ready for a weekday schedule and school-based work.

Qualifications

• Associate degree with some training or exposure to education.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Willingness to work collaboratively and professionally with staff.
• Competency in using technology and school systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify students below standards and provide targeted interventions.
• Assist students with assignments to reinforce concepts.
• Monitor groups to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Maintain records of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide reteaching and tutoring sessions under teacher supervision.
• Attend meetings and trainings as required.

Christel House Indianapolis is currently seeking an Elementary interventionist at Academy South!

Days of Service: 202 days (dependent upon start date, 202 is the maximum for the academic year)

JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides support to students needing additional assistance in meeting academic standards, through small group, individual and co-instructional methods.

Job Tasks:

• In collaboration with teaching faculty, identifies students who are below standards in specific skills and knowledge.
• Assist students with assignments that reinforce learning concepts.
• Monitor individual and/or groups of students for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
• Maintain a record of interventions and progress monitoring.
• Provide ‘re-teaching’ and tutoring sessions around core instruction that was delivered by the classroom teacher.
• Implement, under the supervision of the teacher, instructional programs and lesson plans for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
• Attend meetings and in-service presentations for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
• Other duties assigned.

Requirements:

• Associate degree with some training/exposure to education and teaching OR network equivalent
• Ability and willingness to work collaboratively, maintaining cooperative and effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• Competency in using technology.
• Ability to report to work on a regular and punctual basis.
• An agreement with the mission statement and goals of Christel House Schools.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Ability to reach with hands and arms.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
