Job summary

Builders FirstSource, America’s largest supplier of building materials, is seeking an Inside Counter Sales Representative to assist customers and contractors with quotes and product information, in person or by phone. You will be the liaison between customers and internal teams, handling orders, pricing, scheduling deliveries, and follow-ups.

The role demands strong customer service, solid product knowledge, and the ability to work across departments to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1–2 years in building material industry with product knowledge.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to operate computer, calculator and cash register.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company during the sales process by collecting customer product needs and design specifications.
• Respond to inquiries regarding product selection, pricing, orders, deliveries, and follow-ups.
• Initiate calls to customers to generate sales to meet targets.
• Develop product knowledge through company training and industry knowledge.
• Provide accurate material take-offs and pricing for projects.
• Input orders and pricing into the computer system; create invoices and tickets.
• Maintain stock levels on the sales floor and in the stockroom.
• Operate and balance the cash register daily; handle credits and returns as needed.
• Assist outside sales reps to ensure customer satisfaction.
