Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an Inside Counter Sales Representative to assist customers and contractors. You’ll provide quotes, product information, and design specifications both in person and over the phone, acting as the liaison between customers and internal staff to drive sales.

Responsibilities include processing orders, pricing, deliveries, and maintaining stock; prior experience in building materials is preferred, with strong communication and customer-service skills essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years in building materials or related sales environment preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to upsell and handle inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Represent the company during the sales process by collecting customer needs and design specifications in person or by phone.
• Provide quotes, pricing information, and timely follow-ups to drive sales.
• Handle special orders, processing of invoices, and coordination with internal teams to meet delivery schedules.
• Maintain accurate stock levels on the sales floor and assist customers with product selection and orders.
• Operate cash register and process payments accurately; balance cash at end of shift.
