Job summary

Builders FirstSource is seeking an Inside Counter Sales Representative to assist customers and contractors with quotes and product information both in person and by phone. You will gather project needs, provide pricing, and act as the liaison between purchasing, design staff, and customers to generate sales.

The role requires high school education and 1–2 years in building materials, with strong communication and sales skills.

Qualifications

Requires solid customer service experience in a retail/building materials setting.
Ability to interpret product specs and pricing to prepare quotes.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills for contractors and customers.

Responsibilities

Represent BFS during sales by gathering customer needs and acting as liaison between departments.
Respond to inquiries on product selection, pricing, orders, deliveries, and support follow-ups.
Generate sales by contacting customers to meet or exceed targets.
Provide accurate material takeoffs and assist drafting/engineering as needed.
Enter orders and pricing into the system; create invoices and sales tickets.
Maintain stock levels and assist with cash register operations.
Collaborate with outside sales reps to ensure customer satisfaction.
Adhere to safety procedures and participate in training.
