Wesco, a leading B2B distributor, is seeking an Inside Sales Representative in Illinois to grow sales with existing customers and add value to their buying experience.

The role emphasizes proactive selling, order creation, upselling, and collaboration with outside sales to meet goals. A performance-based commission is included along with base salary, and candidates should be comfortable with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or Equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Sales experience and sales administration knowledge required; 2–4 years of professional contribution.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.
• Ability to multitask and work well in a team environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong prospecting and market concept skills.
• Ability to work independently with general supervision.
• Willingness to travel 0–25%.

Responsibilities

• Obtains orders via email and phone, verifies items, and enters orders.
• Increases orders by suggesting related items and reviewing buying history.
• Owns and develops opportunities passed from marketing and outside sales.
• Identifies process improvement opportunities.
• Prepares quotations to secure orders or explain losses.
• Reviews open orders and addresses items at risk of late delivery.
• Maintains backorder and expediting reports and notifies customers.
• Reports industry trends and competitive pricing to management.
