Job summary

Plaid is building our first-ever inside sales team of Associate Account Executives and seeking a strong Sales Leader to establish this critical function from the ground up.

As the founding leader, you’ll define how the team operates, shape playbooks and development models, coach reps in real time, and scale repeatable motions across verticals, with direct involvement in customer conversations and forecast cycles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of sales in a high-growth environment.
• 2+ years in a sales leadership or team lead role.
• Track record as a quota-carrying seller in complex sales motions.
• Experience selling to financial institutions, fintechs, or enterprise accounts.
• Ability to bring clarity and process across two segments with different stakeholders.
• Strong organization, data-driven approach, and comfort in evolving environments.
• Cross-functional collaboration with Product, Risk, Legal, and Solutions Engineering.
• Passion for developing talent and building an early-career sales bench.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop 8-10 Account Executives to drive pipeline and deal strategy.
• Coach AEs with hands-on guidance across discovery, pricing, and closes.
• Recruit, onboard, and ramp top sales talent with clear performance bars.
• Scale the playbook across product areas and verticals with repeatable motions.
• Run pipeline reviews, deal inspections, and forecast calls to lift forecast accuracy.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Product, and Risk to shape vertical strategy.
• Set KPIs, CRM hygiene, capacity planning, and revenue targets with GTM leadership.
