Job summary

DaMar Staffing seeks an experienced inpatient coder to review and analyze hospital records, assigning ICD-10-CM and PCS codes for inpatient encounters.

You will ensure coding accuracy, align with payer requirements, and collaborate with clinicians or auditors as needed. The role focuses on high-acuity trauma and surgical cases, strictly inpatient. Epic EMR proficiency and RHIA/CCS/RHIT certification are required.

Qualifications

• Min. of 3 years of inpatient coding in a hospital setting.
• Must have experience coding Level 1 Trauma cases.
• Strictly inpatient coding (no ER / outpatient-only experience).
• Epic EMR experience and professional certifications (RHIA/CCS/RHIT).

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze inpatient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM and PCS codes.
• Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, payer requirements, and hospital standards.
• Code high-acuity cases, including trauma, surgical, and complex inpatient encounters.
• Work with clinical staff or coding auditors for clarification as needed.
