Job summary

e4health is seeking an Inpatient Coder to accurately abstract data into client EMR systems, following ICD-10-CM/PCS guidelines, UHDDS and CMS directives. You will assign POA indicators and enter data into the client’s system, ensuring high coding accuracy and productivity.

The role is remote, requiring AHIMA/AAPC credentials and 3+ years of inpatient US coding experience, with preference for Trauma Level 1/Academic teaching facility backgrounds. Competitive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC credential required.
• 3+ years inpatient coding in acute care.
• 5+ years Trauma Level 1/Academic teaching facility experience preferred.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/PCS coding.
• 3+ years of coding within the US is required.

Responsibilities

• Assigns ICD-10-CM/PCS codes to inpatient accounts per workflow.
• abstracts and enters coded data for hospital statistics and reporting.
• Assigns present on admission indicators and discharge dispositions.
• Queries physicians to clarify ambiguous information.
• Communicates documentation improvement opportunities to relevant staff.
• Collaborates with Clinical Documentation Improvement and Revenue Cycle teams.
• Maintains required productivity and quality standards.
• Maintains coding credential requirements.
