Job summary

University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for Inpatient Psychiatry in Dallas. This full-time day shift position provides direct patient care in a multidisciplinary psychiatric unit, with emphasis on safety, assessment, and evidence-based nursing practices.

Candidates should have an RN license in Texas, a nursing program graduate, and at least 1 year of RN experience. BSN and professional certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved/accredited nursing program with English proficiency.
• RN licensure in Texas and BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs and documents physical, psychosocial, and emotional assessments.
• Develops and communicates a care plan with patient and family.
• Collaborates with physicians and care team to ensure patient safety and quality care.
• Maintains nursing documentation and adheres to hospital policies and standards.
• Provides education to patients and families and supports discharge planning.
