Job summary

UTHealth Houston's Dunn Behavioral Sciences Campus seeks a registered nurse to join a day shift in an inpatient psychiatric unit. You will assess medical and psychiatric needs, develop and implement care plans, administer medications, and document outcomes.

You will supervise LVNs and psychiatric technicians, coordinate discharge planning, and act as a liaison between patients and care providers. This role requires Texas RN licensure and CPR certification, with a strong commitment to safety and

Qualifications

• RN licensure in Texas.
• CPR certification required.
• Experience in inpatient psychiatric care preferred.
• Supervisory experience with LVNs and psychiatric technicians.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and plans and implements care.
• Assists with discharge planning and post-discharge instructions.
• Collaborates with the treatment team and coordinates care.
• Functions as liaison between patients, physicians and care providers.
• Documents patient care and outcomes per policy.
• Administers medications and responds to emergencies.
