Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Psychiatric unit (1East) on the inpatient floor. The role focuses on delivering professional nursing care per physician plans to ensure patient comfort and well-being, while coordinating with the multidisciplinary team to evaluate progress.

Responsibilities include data collection, assessments, discharge planning, and education for patients and families.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two year training program at an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license.
• BLS certification and de-escalation training; ACLS and PALS per department needs (AHA).

Responsibilities

• The RN collects patient health data involving patient, family and other health care providers.
• Performs initial assessment based on patient presentation.
• Records data on the Interdisciplinary Admission Assessment.
• Demonstrates awareness of age/cultural needs and disabilities.
• Incorporates discharge planning into the admission process.
• Develops a care plan and collaborates with the team to meet outcomes.
• Communicates care plans to patient, family and care team.
