Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center seeks an experienced Pharmacy Technician for its Inpatient Pharmacy team. You will support medication distribution, unit dose dispensing, IV admixture preparation, and sterile product handling in a high-demand hospital setting.

The ideal candidate holds a High School Diploma, a current Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration, and at least two years in inpatient pharmacy, including one year of sterile compounding.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Active Texas Pharmacy Technician Registration with TSBP.
• Two years of inpatient pharmacy experience, incl. sterile compounding.

Responsibilities

• Medications preparation and distribution across the unit.
• Fill cart fills and first doses accurately and promptly.
• Pull medications to refill controlled access cabinets.
• Deliver meds and supplies to designated areas.
• Prepare sterile products (SVP/LVP, chemo, biotherapy, investigational).
• Perform high-risk sterile compounding with safety protocols.
• Nonsterile compounding when required.
• Repackage bulk medications for distribution.
• Maintain medication security and accountability at all times.
• Monitor inventory, perform cycle counts, and restock as needed.
• Identify shortages and notify appropriate personnel.
