Job summary

Ascension St Vincent Indianapolis Hospital in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. The role involves reviewing medication orders, compounding and dispensing medications, and providing drug information to clinicians and patients.

Licensure as a Pharmacist with Indiana Board of Pharmacy is required within 3 months of hire. A BS or PharmD is expected, with PGY1 residency or hospital experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Pharmacist license from Indiana Board of Pharmacy required within 3 months.
• Bachelor's or PharmD in Pharmacy required.
• PGY1 residency or hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess medication orders to identify, prevent and resolve potential and actual drug related problems.
• Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
• Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.
• Oversee technical personnel who assist in the preparation, maintenance, and dispensing of medications and supplies. Assist with academic functions such as serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students. May float to provide coverage of pharmacy needs.
• Provide patient counseling efficiently and effectively when required.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• Compound and dispense medications for accurate delivery to patients.
• Provide drug information and education to medical staff and patients.
• Communicate with physicians and other clinicians as necessary to facilitate care.

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• Pharmacist credentialed from the Indiana Board Of Pharmacy obtained within 3 Months (90 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Pharmacy required.
