Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Neuro Stepdown unit. The role is full-time with 3x12 hour Day shifts and rotating weekends, caring for high-acuity patients in a 46-bed unit.

The nurse will act as a clinical liaison, translating complex medical plans into clear language and collaborating with rapid response teams to provide optimal patient care.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month of hire date; American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date.

Responsibilities

• Work in a high-acuity 46 bed Neuro Stepdown unit with patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3-4.
• Care for patients from the ER or Trauma Neuro ICU and MICU transfers.
• Serve as clinical liaison by translating complex medical plans into clear language.
• Engage in effective team collaboration, including rapid response participation.

How you’ll make an impact in this role

• You will be working in a high-acuity, 46 bed unit where the patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:3-4
• Patients come from the ER or are transferred from the Trauma Neuro ICU and MICU.
• Wide range of diagnoses; Trauma Injuries,Craniotomy, Laminectomy, Discectomy
• Act as the Clinical Liaison by translating complex medical plans into clear, compassionate language
• Engage in effective team collaboration, including rapid response and initiative participation.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education

• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
