Job summary

Savista is seeking a Remote/In-house Coder to review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10 CM and PCS codes for Facility Inpatient records. You will verify MS-DRG calculations and ensure accurate data abstraction to support billing and regulatory compliance.

You will interact with client staff, maintain confidentiality, and stay current with ICD-10 guidelines as part of Savista's Compliance Program and ongoing trainings.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment skills assessment must be passed.
• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential(s) such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CCS-P, CPC or CPC-H.
• Two years of recent, hands-on coding experience with Acute Inpatient records.
• Knowledge of ICD-10 CM & PCS code sets and related guidelines.
• Ability to maintain 95% accuracy in coding while meeting client/Savista standards.
• Proficient in MS Office; basics of Excel, Outlook and Word; data entry and scheduling usage.

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10 CM and PCS codes for designated inpatient types.
• Review clinical records to ensure MS-DRG assignments reflect diagnoses/procedures.
• Abstract clinical data for accurate billing and regulatory compliance.
• Complete assigned work using standard resources and guidelines.
• Serve as a resource for client staff on data integrity and coding practices.
• Maintain patient and provider confidentiality per HIPAA.
