Job summary

Savista seeks a Coder to review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for Facility Inpatient records to support billing and reimbursement. You will validate MS-DRG calculations and ensure accurate data abstracting for regulatory compliance.

You may interact with client staff, maintain HIPAA confidentiality, participate in trainings, and stay current with coding guidelines and third-party requirements as part of Savista's Compliance Program.

Qualifications

• Must pass pre-employment skills assessment.
• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential listed above.
• Two years of recent hands-on coding experience with all record types: Acute Inpatient.

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10 CM and PCS codes for Facility Inpatient records.
• Review and analyze clinical records to ensure MS-DRG assignments reflect the documented diagnoses/procedures.
• Abstract data from records to support diagnoses, procedures and discharge disposition; ensure adequacy for compliance.

Education

AHIMA/ACCP credentials: RHIA, RHIT, CCS or AAPC credentials CPC-H/ CCS-P/ CPC or related credential
