Job summary

Savista, LLC is seeking a qualified Coder to review clinical documentation and assign ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS codes for Facility Inpatient records. You will validate MS-DRG calculations and ensure accurate abstracting to support billing and regulatory compliance.

The role requires AHIMA or AAPC credentials (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/COC/CCS-P/CPC), 2 years of inpatient coding experience, and strong MS Office skills, with a commitment to confidentiality and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Pre-employment skills assessment required.
• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential (RHIA, RHIT, CCS, COC, CCS-P, CPC or CPC-H).
• Two years of recent hands-on coding experience with inpatient records.
• Proficient in ICD-10 CM & PCS coding and related guidelines.
• Strong MS Office skills and data handling capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10 CM and PCS codes for designated inpatient types.
• Review and analyze clinical records to ensure accurate MS-DRG assignments.
• Abstract clinical data to support diagnoses, procedures and discharge disposition.
• Complete assigned work functions using established resources.
• Serve as a resource for client staff on coding practices and provider queries.
• Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA.
• Participate in meetings, trainings, and calls as required.
• Keep current with ICD-10 CM/PCS knowledge and coding regulations.
• Engage in continuing education to maintain credentials.
• Support the Compliance Program and report any concerns.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
