Job summary

Mosaic Life Care seeks an Inpatient Coder II to assign ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for acute care inpatient services. You will query providers, evaluate documentation, and ensure coding aligns with official guidelines and regulations.

The role involves collaboration with CDI, revenue, and quality teams, mentoring coders, and supporting education initiatives. Remote work is possible for select states and includes ongoing learning opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3 years experience in HIM inpatient acute care coding.
• Must have coding education with knowledge of medical terminology, pharmacology and anatomy, query guidelines - Required
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS or equivalent certification highly regarded

Responsibilities

• Codes complex diseases, procedures and diagnoses using ICD-10-CM/PCS for inpatient services.
• Queries providers to improve documentation and demonstrate severity of illness.
• Assigns MS-DRG and APR-DRG per guidelines for inpatient services including LTACH.
• Mentors and trains coders.
• Ensures data accuracy for HIDI and regulatory agencies.
