Piedmont Healthcare Inc. is seeking a qualified Inpatient Coder to review, analyze, and code hospital inpatient records, selecting ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/PCS codes as applicable to transition to ICD-10. Primary focus is inpatient coding with accuracy and compliance in coding documentation.

Required: GED, AHIMA-accredited coding certificate preferred, and at least 1 year of hospital coding experience. Certifications such as RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA etc. are required or preferred upon hire.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of hospital coding experience Required
• Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

One or more of certifications listed below: Upon Hire

• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator Required or
• RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician Required or
• CCS-Certified Coding Specialist Required or
• CCA - Certified Coding Associate Required or
• CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based Required or
• CPC - Certified Professional Coder Required or
• CPC-A - Certified Professional Coder - Apprentice Required or
• CPC-H - Certified Professional Coder - Hospital Outpatient/Facility Required
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred
