Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare Corporate is seeking a Hospital Coder specialized in inpatient coding to join our team in Atlanta, GA. The role focuses on accurate ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM coding for inpatient records and requires AHIMA credentialing and hospital coding experience.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of coding experience, RHIA/RHIT or similar certification, and a commitment to compliant coding practices across a multi-hospital environment. Onsite presence in Atlanta is expected.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Coding certificate AHIMA accredited preferred.
• Minimum 1 year hospital coding experience required.
• Remote coding experience preferred in multi-hospital settings.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and codes documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for inpatient coding.
• Primary coding responsibility is Inpatient Coding.

Responsibilities

Reviews, analyzes, and codes documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM procedure codes, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS as applicable to the transition to ICD-10. Primary coding responsibility is Inpatient Coding.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of hospital coding experience Required
• Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• One or more of certifications listed below: Upon Hire
• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator Required or
• RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician Required or
• CCS-Certified Coding Specialist Required or
• CCA - Certified Coding Associate Required or
