Piedmont Healthcare, Inc. is seeking a hospital coder to review and code inpatient medical records, selecting ICD-9/ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM/PCS codes for accurate billing. The role emphasizes inpatient coding and adherence to AHIMA guidelines.

Qualified candidates have at least 1 year of hospital coding experience and AHIMA-certified credentials or AHIMA-accredited coding programs. GED is required.

Qualificações

• 1 year of hospital coding experience required.
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS-C, CCA, CCS-P, CPC, CPC-A or CPC-H certifications required or AHIMA coding certificate preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Primary inpatient coding responsibility; review, analyze, and code documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence ICD-9-CM/ICD-9-CM procedure codes and ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS as applicable.

Responsibilities

Reviews, analyzes, and codes documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM procedure codes, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS as applicable to the transition to ICD-10. Primary coding responsibility is Inpatient Coding.

Qualifications

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred

Work Experience

• 1 year of hospital coding experience Required
• Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• One or more of certifications listed below: Upon Hire
• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator Required or
• RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician Required or
• CCS-Certified Coding Specialist Required or
• CCA - Certified Coding Associate Required or
• CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist – Physician-based Required or
• CPC - Certified Professional Coder Required or
• CPC-A - Certified Professional Coder – Apprentice Required or
• CPC-H - Certified Professional Coder - Hospital Outpatient/Facility Required
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred
