Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an Inpatient Coder-HOSP to review and code hospital inpatient records, assigning ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes as appropriate for the transition to ICD-10. The role focuses on inpatient coding and accurate documentation within a hospital setting.

The candidate should have a high school diploma or GED, AHIMA-accredited coding certification (preferred), and 1 year of hospital coding experience, with remote coding experience preferred.

Qualificações

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• AHIMA accredited Coding Certificate preferred.
• 1 year hospital coding experience required.
• Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience preferred.
• RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA/CCS-P/CPC/CPC-A/CPC-H certification required or AHIMA Coding Certificate preferred upon hire.

Responsabilidades

• Review, analyzes, and codes hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS codes as applicable to the transition to ICD-10.
• Primary coding responsibility is inpatient coding.
• Ensure coding accuracy for documentation and compliance.

Reviews, analyzes, and codes documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM procedure codes, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS as applicable to the transition to ICD-10. Primary coding responsibility is Inpatient Coding.

Education:

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
• Coding Certificate program (AHIMA accredited) Preferred

Work Experience:

• 1 year of hospital coding experience Required
• Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications:

• One or more of certifications listed below: Upon Hire
• RHIA - Registered Health Information Administrator Required or
• RHIT - Registered Health Information Technician Required or
• CCS-Certified Coding Specialist Required or
• CCA - Certified Coding Associate Required or
• CCS-P - Certified Coding Specialist - Physician-based Required or
• CPC - Certified Professional Coder Required or
• CPC-A - Certified Professional Coder - Apprentice Required or
