Job summary

The Valley Health System is seeking a qualified registered nurse to perform clinically based concurrent and retrospective reviews of inpatient medical records in our Southern Nevada facilities. You will evaluate utilization, ensure accurate documentation of severity of illness, and support compliant reimbursement for acute care services.

Ideal candidates have an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing, an active RN license, and at least five years of acute care experience, with strong

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing or International Medical Graduate
• Minimum of five years of clinical experience in an acute care setting; critical care, medical/surgical or Emergency Department nursing preferred
• Current RN license in the state of practice
• Knowledge of Medicare reimbursement system and coding preferred, but not required
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and critical thinking; ability to work independently in a time-oriented environment

Responsibilities

• Provide clinically based concurrent and retrospective review of inpatient medical records to evaluate the utilization and documentation of acute care services
• Help ensure documentation reflects severity of illness and risk of mortality for accurate reporting and reimbursement
• Support requirements of external payers or regulatory agencies and contribute to quality of care outcomes
