Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Carlisle, PA is seeking a nursing assistant to provide direct patient care under RN supervision in a stable patient unit. You will perform basic nursing procedures, assist with daily living activities, document care, and help with admissions, discharges and transfers.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, ability to read/write, basic math, and comfort with computer systems. Training is provided; prior acute care experience is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Basic computer skills.
• Limited or no experience; 2 weeks of training available.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities (ADL, vitals, specimen collection, I&O).
• Accurately documents vital signs, weights, I&O, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Assists with admissions, discharges, and transfers and maintains patient environment.
