Job summary

Allegheny Health Network in Carlisle is seeking a Nursing Assistant to provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct unit coordination in a stable patient population. You will support the RN in acutely ill patients, practice medical asepsis, and document care in the EMR under supervision.

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, ability to train for two weeks, and basic reading/writing, math, and computer skills. CPR and background clearances are required per policy.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED is required.
• Able to attend 2 weeks of training.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions; basic math and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides, obtains or performs and documents direct patient care and activities such as: ADLs, vital signs, ambulation, collection of specimens, I&O, meals, glucose testing, and transport of patients.
• Participates in quality and patient satisfaction initiatives including bedside shift reports and hourly rounding to promote safety and cleanliness.
• Accurately documents vitals, weights, I&O, and treatments; reports changes to nursing staff.
• Participates in unit activities such as supply stocking and equipment cleaning.
• Performs other duties as assigned or required.
