Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a patient-care assistant to support direct patient care and unit coordination on the inpatient floor in Pittsburgh. Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, basic math and computer skills, and be prepared to participate in training and mandatory certifications.

Qualifications

• CPR certification required after hire.
• Ability to read, write and follow oral and written instructions.
• Preferred: currently enrolled in ASN or BSN program.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and assist with non-direct patient care unit coordination.
• Assist RN in care of acutely ill patients and maintain asepsis.
• Document patient care accurately in EMR and communicate changes to nursing staff.
• Support admissions, discharges and transfers on the inpatient unit.
• Participate in quality initiatives and maintain a clean, safe environment.
