Boston Medical Center Brighton is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Inpatient Psychiatric unit (5 West). The 24-hour-per-week day shift offers a supportive team and growth opportunities within a renowned health system.

Responsibilities include delivering nursing care, collaborating with the health care team, updating patient records, and contributing to quality improvement. Requirements include MA RN license, BSN preferred, BLS, ACLS within 90 days, and EHR experience.

Qualifications

• Licensed to practice professional nursing as a registered nurse in Massachusetts.
• Nursing degree: Diploma, ASN or BSN (preferred), with BSN within 4 years.
• 1+ years of Inpatient Behavioral Health RN experience preferred.
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification within 90 days of hire
• NIHSS certificate preferred
• Telemetry experience preferred
• Experience with electronic health record
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Physical ability to meet job responsibilities
• Basic computer proficiency
• Fluency in another language a plus

Responsibilities

• Deliver nursing care in the psychiatric inpatient including assessing, diagnosing, planning, intervening, evaluating, and educating patients
• Communicate with various health care team members, patients, and their families
• Coordinate and delegate appropriate patient care activities to inter-professional colleagues
• Update and manage patient records
• Enter and interpret computerized data/information
• Follow guidelines and policies established by SEMC's nursing organization
• Assist the leadership team as needed in quality improvement projects
