Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) for inpatient pain management in Dallas. The role focuses on evaluating, diagnosing, and managing acute and chronic pain in hospitalized patients, collaborating with physicians, nurses, therapists, and pharmacists.

The AGACNP will round, develop evidence-based pain plans, monitor treatments, educate patients, and ensure safe transitions and quality outcomes across facilities.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Acute care clinical training required.
• Previous inpatient experience preferred.
• Pain Management, Hospital Medicine, Critical Care, Palliative Care, Anesthesia, or related specialty experience preferred.
• Current Texas RN license or compact RN license and APRN license.
• AGACNP certification from an accredited body.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient pain management consultations, assessments, and follow-up evaluations.
• Develop individualized pain management plans with supervising physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
• Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with state laws and delegated authority.
• Monitor opioid and non-opioid regimens for safety and effectiveness.
• Educate patients and families on pain management plans, risks, and outcomes.
• Document encounters and progress notes in the electronic medical record.
• Provide coverage across Baylor Scott & White Dallas-area hospitals as needed.
• Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and care transitions.
