Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas seeks a Nurse Practitioner with acute care focus for intensive medicine. You will provide direct patient care, supervise admissions and discharges, and work under physician scope in an inpatient setting.

Responsibilities include rounding, procedures, and coordinating care with the team. Requires Texas NP licensure and board certification with BLS/ACLS compliance within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Requires Texas RN licensure or RN licensure with compact privilege, and Texas APRN.
• Current Texas NP license and APRN board certification for acute care focus.
• BLS and ACLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical and mental condition; obtain histories and perform exams.
• Order, collect, interpret, and evaluate lab tests and other diagnostics.
• Prescribe therapies and perform procedures per approved protocols.
• Formulate and implement comprehensive treatment plans with supervising physicians.
• Counsel patients and families on medications, regimens, and health promotion.
• Maintain accurate records of treatment plans and outcomes; coordinate referrals.
• Provide consultation for conditions related to the specialty and training.
• Perform invasive procedures as delegated by supervising physician.
• Possibly conduct rounds, assist with admissions/discharges, and on-call support.
