Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Dallas, Texas seeks an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) to join our Neurology team. The role blends inpatient neuro care with outpatient stroke clinic, emphasizing evidence-based management and a multidisciplinary approach.

The NP will work 10-hour day shifts on a rotating schedule with no on-call duty, covering inpatient services 80% and outpatient stroke clinic 20%, collaborating with a 10-physician and 6-AP team for comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited AGACNP program.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient Advanced Practice Provider experience; new graduates will not be considered.
• Current Texas APRN license and AGACNP certification; prescriptive authority in TX; DEA registration.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage patients in inpatient neurology and stroke services.
• Take comprehensive histories and perform physical examinations.
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with neurologists.
• Order and interpret labs, imaging, and neurologic testing.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust plans as needed.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds; coordinate with nursing, rehab, pharmacy, and case management.
• Provide stroke follow-up care in the outpatient Stroke Clinic.
• Educate patients and families on neurologic conditions and treatment plans.
• Document encounters accurately in the EMR; coordinate referrals when appropriate.
• Maintain compliance with regulatory, quality, and safety standards.
