Job summary

Badger Meter Inc. is seeking a Solution Architect to lead pre‑sales design of water quality and smart metering solutions in the Central/Eastern US, ideally based in Charlotte, NC.

You will partner with Account Managers and distributors to design tailored offerings and communicate value to utilities and municipalities. You’ll collaborate across teams, stay ahead of industry trends, respond to RFPs, and mentor peers while traveling up to 60% to engage customers and industry events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Sales, Business, Marketing, or related field.
• 5+ years in water/wastewater or technical solution design.
• Strong communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
• Travel up to 60% or as needed for customer engagement and industry events.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a trusted advisor during pre-sales, designing solutions for water quality and smart metering.
• Collaborate with Account Managers, Channel Managers, and distributors to present solutions.
• Participate in technical seminars, trade shows, and industry events.
• Respond to RFPs, bids, and customer inquiries with precision and professionalism.
• Mentor and support internal teams to strengthen sales effectiveness.
• Stay ahead of industry trends to be the partner of choice for utilities and municipalities.
