Job summary

Badger Meter is seeking a Private Water Account Manager to lead strategic growth and customer engagement with investor-owned water utilities across an assigned territory. This is more than a traditional sales role.

You'll serve as a trusted advisor to utility leaders, helping them address critical challenges related to water loss, aging infrastructure, affordability, regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, and digital transformation.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of consultative B2B sales experience.
• Experience supporting utilities, infrastructure, industrial, municipal, environmental, or related markets.
• Strong communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Successful management of complex sales cycles with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to translate customer challenges into value-driven solutions.

Responsibilities

• Grow and expand strategic customer accounts while achieving revenue and territory growth goals.
• Build trusted relationships with utility executives and key decision-makers.
• Identify opportunities across AMI, SaaS, analytics, water quality, leak detection, network monitoring, wastewater, and smart utility solutions.
• Lead consultative sales discussions focused on solving customer challenges and delivering business value.
• Develop account strategies, business cases, and ROI-driven proposals.
• Partner with internal technical, product, and customer success teams to deliver comprehensive customer solutions.
